The Sarthe Departmental Council was rewarded for its video detection system to fight against forest fires, this Thursday, September 14, 2023, at Futuroscope in Poitiers. The community received a “Gold D”.
The 2023 “D d’Or” ceremony is organized by Le Journal des Départements, in partnership this year with the Vienne Departmental Council.
“Rewarding innovative departments”
“The aim is to reward innovative Departments, in order to support and highlight their actions and initiatives to contribute to the economic, social, cultural, environmental, health and technological development of France,” says the department’s communications service.
The department deployed a video detection system after the major forest fires of 2019.
