Le Lion-d’Angers: a completely renovated canteen at the Edmond-Girard school group

As part of the energy renovation and expansion project of the Edmond-Girard school group au Lion-d’Angers (Maine et Loire)work is going well in this summer 2022 canteen side.

“We had to follow the evolution of the school group”, explains Jerome Deloire, deputy to Lion-d’Angers in charge of the case. And for that the elected officials have put the small dishes in the big ones since the dining room on the primary side is enlarged by 30%.

Restructuring

The distribution of 340 meals per day will therefore be reviewed.

For more comfort, the installation of a new ceiling and a linoleum floor to limit noise are planned.

“This removal of the ceiling also allows us, in addition to the sound insulation, to pass all the ducts, in particular for the double flow VMC”.

Modifications” not easy in an original building not designed for this. To facilitate the work and minimize the costs, we decided to install onlya single air handling center (CTA) consequent instead of 14 smaller but necessary for the whole complex. This CTA is installed upstairs, on the mezzanine, and will take up a large part of the library”.

Back to school is coming

To heat the entire complex, a wood boiler room (pellets) is built.

Get rid of electric heating. “So we have to bring the pipes to all the rooms so that the water circuit supplies all the new radiators installed in the classrooms”.

For this new canteen, the workers will have to work twice as hard because the delivery is “imperative” for the back to school in september.
