Le Jourdain Clinic Affair: the three free nurses

The three doctors employed at the clinic The Jordan incarcerated for three weeks, have been breathing the air of freedom since this afternoon of November 3, 2023. The Dr. Pigeon Annie (resuscitator) and his two colleagues Julien Etoundi Mendana (state qualified nurse) and Dieudonné Mvondo Engamba (nurse anesthetist) benefit from an order from the investigating judge in charge of their case. During a hearing with the judge, the latter gave a favorable response to the request for release of these three health promoters.

A sigh of relief both for the beneficiaries of the newspaper’s prescription and for the medical profession who, if they were not particularly mobilized in this cause, were experiencing it badly in their flesh.

Since October 13, these three employees of the Le Jourdain clinic have been the subject of a committal warrant and detained at the central prison of Yaoundé, for having been involved in the events which marked the ultimately fatal treatment of a baby in their health facility. A ” lumbar puncture” carried out by the medical profession had gone wrong, and the family of the deceased baby not only ransacked the facility, but attacked the medical personnel involved for ” medical negligence“. The family who was already opposed to said lumbar puncture.

With this release, it is a first victory for the medical profession. Its members will appear free in this case, the next hearing of which is scheduled for November 17.
