Maintenance work will take place from March 4 in the Rhône discharge gallery , announced the Cisalb (Intercommunity Committee for the sanitation of Lake Bourget).

A technical visit is organized every two years in order to keep the structure in good condition. The next one is scheduled between March 8 and 12. In order to be able to intervene in complete safety, the gallery will be closed from Thursday March 4. During the shutdown, the treated effluents from the purification stations will be discharged into the Leysse at the level of the “Passerelle aux Dames”, in Bourget-du-Lac. “A protocol for monitoring the quality of the waters of the Leysse will be put in place throughout the closure of the gallery,” said Cisalb.
Commissioned in 1980, this 12 km gallery between Le Bourget-du-Lac and La Balme makes it possible to no longer discharge into the lake (but in the Rhône) wastewater leaving Aix and Chambéry wastewater treatment plants.
