Le Bouillon d’Or will replace Maître Corbeau located in the city center of Rouen. On the menu, traditional dishes in the spirit of the typical restaurants of the capital.
A traditional card for less than two euros per entry. A typical Parisian broth restaurant will open its doors in the city center of Rouen, rue des Basnages, indicates Paris-Normandy. Le Maître Corbeau, which permanently closed its doors on November 12, will make way for Le Bouillon d’Or.
This new establishment will be managed by Élisabeth Barbier Battaille, the owner of Veau d’Or, in Rouen, and Petit Veau d’Or, address in Bois-Guillaume. “I fell in love with Bouillon Chartier around fifteen years ago,” she explains to our colleagues, referring to the historic Parisian establishment.
A traditional menu at low prices
Eggs with mayonnaise, beef bourguignon or even leek vinaigrette will be on the menu for a traditional menu. All at low prices. “From the classic which will range from less than 2 euros for the cheapest starter (for the broth) to 14 euros maximum for a main course”, specifies the restaurateur at 76 currently.
“We will offer local, seasonal products. I can do this thanks to the suppliers with whom I have worked for years. It is also with the right equipment in the kitchen that we can reduce costs,” she assures.
“The idea is that everyone can come and eat and be served quickly,” she summarizes with Paris-Normandie. The popular brasserie will seat 300 people and will be open every day, from noon to midnight, but you’ll have to be patient to find out. Élisabeth Barbier Battaille wants to renovate the establishment to “make this place a brothel, as if it had always existed”.
Work will begin in January 2024 with an opening planned for the summer.
