Rue du Luxembourg is a showcase that commands attention. Le Boudoir by Marie opened at the beginning of last fall after completely transforming the premises previously operated by a colorful clothing store.
From now on, the world of weddings takes center stage, all in elegance and refinement. The ground floor is devoted to cocktail and civil ceremony outfits, but the highlight of the show is upstairs. It is here, in this space dressed in powdery shades, that wedding dress fittings take place. A chic setting, which refers to this idea of the boudoir, hence the name of the place.

The concept store revolves around a watchword: designer dresses, noble materials, beautiful lace from the North, silk and muslin with just the perfect fit. The label of French designer Elsa Gary is on all models. The dresses, in bohemian chic style, are made in Agen, in the South-West.
“Meeting this designer several years ago convinced me to get started. Deep down inside, I think I’ve always been drawn to this universe except that I had branched off into something else,” says Marie Hasser. This other thing was Luxembourg where Marie worked in human resources before being overtaken by this desire buried deep within her.
She went there in stages, the first consisting of fitting out the attic of the family home to open Le Boudoir d’Elsa Gary. A cocoon of sweetness and benevolence where she received dozens of future brides for six years.
And then the question of going further arose. That of definitively leaving his part-time position in the Grand Duchy as well.
Thionville, a bias
Originally from Messina, Marie could have been tempted to position herself in the city center “but on reflection, I said to myself that there is potential in Thionville and then that’s where I live”.
The proximity of Luxembourg, the large proportion of cross-border workers residing in the agglomeration and the rediscovered dynamics of the hyper center won his choice.
Today, Le Boudoir by Marie also contributes to this famous commercial renewal that the city has long sought. Customers who have never had the habit of venturing onto the pedestrian plateau discover a much livelier city center than what one can read on social networks.
