“LDF Condemns Archbishop’s Insults towards Martyrs of Thalassery”

Kannur: LDF convener E.P. against the insult of Martyrs of Thalassery Archbishop Mar Joseph Pamplani. Jayarajan. EP said that such remarks are not expected from someone in a high position. Jayarajayan said. Gandhi and Jesus are martyrs, Jayarajan asked whether Gandhi fell from the bridge and died.

‘How do you feel insulting the martyrs? We call martyrdom when class enemies destroy those who are working for common interests in the public sphere. It has people belonging to different political parties and religious sects. How insulting to those who sacrificed their lives for the public. What Thalassery Bishop has said is a wrong action. It is also against the Christian sect.

It is not understood why the martyrs are insulted for the country when the minority is facing so many problems. Jesus was also a martyr who sacrificed his life for the poor and the hungry. I do not understand what is the reason for insulting such martyrs. The bishop should not have said that,’ EP Jayarajan said in Kannur.

At the KCYM Youth Day celebration held in Cherupuzha yesterday, Thalassery Archbishop Mar Joseph Pamplani made insulting remarks about the martyrs. He used to say that the political martyrs were the ones who died in unnecessary fights and some fell from the bridge when they were chased by the police during the demonstration. EP Jayarajan is also the first political leader to protest against his statement. Opposition leader V.D. Satheesan was asked for his response by the media but he said that Pamplani’s remark was not noticed.
