Today, on June 29, the Latvian Employers’ Confederation (LDDK) will inform about the introduction of the short-time working scheme in Latvia as a solution to temporary employment in the conditions of the crisis and for overcoming the consequences. In an interview with Latvijas Radio, the General Director of the Confederation Līga Menģelsone acknowledged that such an instrument is necessary to support those companies that have been significantly affected by the Covid-19 crisis and whose turnover has decreased.
Mengelson points out that negotiations with politicians on such a support mechanism have only just begun. However, support has not yet been reached.
