From today until 23 October Lazio is the protagonist at SIAL Paris, thanks to the partnership between the Lazio Region, Arsial and the Chambers of Commerce of Rome and Frosinone Latina. With a collective of 20 companies, Lazio brings the best of its agri-food production to France, ready to win over operators and buyers in one of the reference events for the international agri-food market.
SIAL Paris, which has been held every two years in the French capital since 1964, is a strategic opportunity for companies that want to expand their presence on the markets, test new products and identify key trends. The fair offers a meeting platform for over 7,000 exhibitors and welcomes more than 300,000 visitors from around 200 countries. For Lazio, the event represents a privileged showcase for promoting businesses, territories and one of the most important food and wine heritages in the country.
«The Lazio Region – declares the Councilor for Agriculture and Budget, Giancarlo Righini – has given a new impetus to the agricultural sector through a targeted planning strategy, in which the promotion of our excellence on foreign markets is a key element. Participation in internationally important events, such as the Sial in Paris, represents a fundamental opportunity to support companies in their internationalization path, strengthening the competitiveness of Lazio agrifood on a global level. In this context, collaboration with the Chambers of Commerce of Rome, Frosinone and Latina is essential, with which it is necessary to build a synergistic system, oriented towards the development and innovation of the agri-food sector, with the aim of projecting it increasingly towards a national and international dimension”.
Massimiliano Raffa, Extraordinary Commissioner of Arsial, highlights the new role of Lazio, as a region of food and wine excellence: «At SIAL, we will promote the ‘Lazio Model’, based on the synergy between institutions and businesses. Our goal is to ensure that companies find new opportunities and consolidate their positioning, strengthening our regional agrifood, which is rapidly establishing itself, also as a result of a new promotion strategy, as a point of reference on the international market for quality and innovation”.
«The SIAL in Paris – states Lorenzo Tagliavanti, President of the Rome Chamber of Commerce – constitutes one of the most important trade fair events for companies in the sector, with an estimated participation of over 280 thousand operators. There is a solid institutional collaboration with the Lazio Region and we share a strong commitment to supporting the competitiveness of the local entrepreneurial fabric. The agri-food sector, in particular, represents one of our productive excellences with an export which, in Rome, in the first 6 months of 2024 was over 374 million euros. Therefore, the Rome Chamber of Commerce, in synergy with the Region, participates in the Sial to support businesses in Rome and Lazio”.
«The ten companies from the wider Frosinone Latina area that will participate in the SIAL, together with ten other companies from the rest of Lazio, are tangible proof of the concrete commitment of the Frosinone Latina Chamber of Commerce and the Azienda Speciale Informare to support our SMEs on international markets and encourage the promotion of our excellence abroad. A priority of Chamber of Commerce action made possible also thanks to the commitment of the President of Informare, Luigi Niccolini and the Councilor delegated for Internationalisation, Carla Picozza, whom I thank”. Thus the President of the Frosinone Latina Chamber of Commerce, Giovanni Acampora.
In addition to the exhibition showcase, the Lazio program at SIAL includes an exclusive business dinner and B2B meetings, designed to allow Lazio companies to develop commercial relationships and promote regional excellence. It is a precious opportunity to enhance the richness and diversity of Lazio’s agri-food industry, which combines tradition and innovation, highlighting a dynamic reality ready to make itself known throughout the world.
