Ghaziabad. Advocates from 22 districts of Western Uttar Pradesh will be on strike from Monday in protest against the lathicharge in the District Judge’s court on October 29. Advocates adamant on the demand of removal of District Judge Anil Kumar will also block the road outside the court from 12 noon to 2 pm every day. Not only this, the lawyers have also called a Mahapanchayat on 16th on this issue.

Ghaziabad Bar Association President Deepak Sharma said that the advocates of 22 districts including Ghaziabad, Meerut, Hapur, Baghpat, Noida, Bulandshahr, Saharanpur, Shamli, Muzaffarnagar, Amroha and Moradabad districts of Meerut, Saharanpur, Moradabad, Aligarh and Agra divisions united. Running this movement.

Bar officials of these 22 districts associated with the West Uttar Pradesh Bench Establishment Struggle Committee had taken this decision by holding a meeting in the Ghaziabad court. Ghaziabad Bar Association is leading this movement. This movement will not only continue until the District Judge is removed but will also continue to intensify day by day. If the demands of the lawyers are not met, the scope of the movement will be increased further.

seven days of movement

It has been seven days since the lawyers’ agitation. During this period, protests are being held daily in Ghaziabad court. Lawyers are not doing judicial work.

Those selling food items have also come along with the lawyers. Water is also not being supplied to the campers. This is increasing the problems of the litigants.

In the beginning of the movement, only lawyers from Ghaziabad remained on strike but gradually lawyers from 22 districts of Western UP joined.

About 10 thousand cases are heard every day in Ghaziabad court. Excluding the Sunday holiday, only 60 thousand cases were given dates in six days.

Police investigation did not progress even a single step

Two cases were registered at Kavinagar police station in connection with the uproar in the court on October 29. One was registered by the court employee and the other by the police. Both the cases were registered against the lawyers. Violent sections were imposed in these. The lawyers are accused of burning the police post of the court, obstructing government work and pelting stones. The police investigation in both the cases has not progressed even a single step. Police officials had said that they would collect evidence from CCTV footage. This footage will be available only with the permission of the High Court. An application has been given by the police for this.
