The Mexican Bar Association (BMA) and the General Council of Mexican Bar Associations (CGAM) called on the “reforming power of the Constitution” to generate consensus and achieve a reform of the Judiciary that “truly brings justice closer to the people seeking justice without affecting the judicial career or the rights of workers and those who administer justice: all with a view to a better future for the administration of justice.”
They also supported the suspension of work of civil organizations that bring together secretaries of agreements and attorneys, as well as judges and magistrates.
The presidents of both colleges, Victor Olea Pérez and Ricardo Ríos Ferrer, respectively, expressed their solidarity with the workers of the Federal Judicial Branch (PJF) in defense of their labor rights in the face of judicial reform.
“In accordance with the above, the CGAM reiterates that its central position regarding said reform is the defense of the fundamental rights of all persons to receive an independent, objective, professional, qualified, impartial, fair and equitable administration of justice.”
