The legal representative of the family of the Minister of the Environment and Natural Resources, Orlando Jorge Mera, Miguel Valerio assured this Saturday that the Jorge Villegas family is interested in the case reaching its final consequences and clarifying the murder of the former official.
The jurist issued these statements after being approached by journalists upon his arrival at the courtroom where the coercive measure against Miguel de Jesús Cruz de la Mota was being heard.
“Faced with such a horrendous event, we are going to establish a clear and precise defense position, since the family is the most interested in thoroughly investigating the reason for the event, because the two were friends since childhood”
Valerio stated.
The judge of the Judicial Office of Permanent Attention Services of the National District, Rigoberto Cena Ferrera, imposed one year of preventive detention againstMiguel Cruz de la Mota accused of murdering with six shots Environment Minister Orlando Jorge Mera in his office.
Cruz de la Mota must serve preventive detention at the Najayo-Man correction center.
Orlando Jorge Mera’s sister and son, Dilia Dilcia Jorge Mera and Orlando Jorge Villegas, who did not speak when they left the court, were present at the coercive measure hearing.
