Lawyer says they planted evidence

Lawyer César Bóveda denounced that Interpol Paraguay authorities supposedly planted evidence to incriminate his client, non-commissioned officer Kevin Montiel, one of the suspects in canceling the red notice that Gianina García, wife of Sebastián Marset, had to bear.

The legal professional referred to the folders that were found in the locker of non-commissioned officer Montiel, and that contained documents linked to the Marset case, which, according to his version, were placed on purpose to mislead the investigators.

“He said that he was totally unaware of those documents, he only found out at the hearing,” he said.

According to the lawyer, this is an act of manipulation so that the magnifying glass of the interveners goes towards their client, who is the lowest ranking within the institution, and saves those truly responsible.

“It is very easy to plant evidence, he is barely 22 years old and is the last in the hierarchy of officials,” the lawyer explained.

One of the facts that incriminate the non-commissioned officer is the purchase of a vehicle.

“He said that he made a loan from a cooperative for G. 9,000,000, from a bank for G. 15,000,000 and commented that outside of his activities he bought electronic items to sell. He had already been looking at vehicles to buy before,” he said.
