Lawyer Reinhard Scheu: From Retirement Plans to Rock Band Dreams

Reinhard Scheu wanted to retire after celebrating his 40th anniversary as a lawyer. But things turned out differently. And now he also plays in a rock band.

In the summer, Reinhard Scheu threw a big party in the showroom of the Porsche Center in the Bolheim district of Herbrechtingen. The 67-year-old celebrated his 40th anniversary as a lawyer there with around 120 guests. “And I actually wanted to announce my retirement from the profession at this celebration,” says the lawyer, who is in Bächingen grew up and now lives in the “Wohninsel” in Staufen. Because the targeted “young professionals” are in the Giengen law firm Scheu/Dr. But Scheu (Sonja – one of the lawyer’s two daughters)/Brenndörfer had a different orientation, the lawyer is now going into extension. Or as Reinhard Scheu says in broad Swabian: “Now I’m going to go back to Reama.” In other words, the sworn auditor who only wanted to audit the annual financial statements of corporations after the end of his working life has to wait a little longer until he can enjoy the advantages of being a pensioner.

Scheu has already given the card index a generous donation

Why this story? Reinhard Scheu has a heart for them Card file of distress, our newspaper’s reader support organization. When he celebrated his 60th birthday seven years ago with his now deceased friend and Staufen resident Jürgen Lemmer, the guests were asked to forego gifts and donate to social causes. 7,440 euros were raised, and 3,720 euros went to the emergency file. When celebrating his anniversary as a lawyer, Reinhard Scheu chose the same approach – no gifts from guests, instead a card file donation. And this time 2,715 euros were raised, which Staufner has now donated again to our readers’ aid organization. “I like the fact that local people are supported here who are in trouble through no fault of their own,” says the lawyer about his motivation for supporting the file.

Reinhard Scheu, father of two daughters, has many passions. When he was younger, the now 67-year-old was, among other things, a part-time dance teacher. And older readers still know the former Bächinger as the bassist for the Rockets, who also played in the region in the Krone in Bissingen, the Schlössle in Unterfinningen and the Krone in Deisenhofen. From 1976 to 1987 Scheu made music in the band. When the lawyer recently fulfilled a lifelong dream and traveled the United States from Nashville to New Orleans, he was hooked on rock ‘n’ roll again. “I saw a bass player playing and thought to myself, I can still do that,” remembers Scheu.

He performs “Even More” in the Cabana Bar in Lauingen

As a result, he is now playing in a band again. Namely “Even More”. The group will make their debut in the region on Saturday, November 11th at 8:30 p.m. in the Cabana Bar in Lauingen. In contrast to him, his colleagues are professionals. Classic rock is played – from Deep Purple to the Eagles. Reinhard Scheu is looking forward to the performance. “I’m nervous,” says the man from Staufen. His friends and acquaintances couldn’t even imagine that.
