Lawyer Peter Plasman is going to file a complaint against Sywert van Lienden and two business partners. They have been guilty of fraud with their mouth mask deal with the government, Plasman said in the talk show Jinek.
After a call earlier this week, a number of injured parties reported to him, according to the lawyer. These are probably volunteers who helped Van Lienden to get millions of mouth caps to the Netherlands at the start of the corona crisis, when there was a great lack of medical devices.
Refund
Initially, Van Lienden said he and his business partners were not making any money from the delivery. It later turned out that they had about 28 million euros left. Only if Van Lienden and his associates return the profits, they can avoid a lawsuit, according to Plasman.
Plasman continued at Jinek that there is a lot of fear among his clients. “They are afraid to end up in all kinds of legal proceedings against people who have a lot of money.”
Comedian Youp van ‘t Hek, who has lashed out at Van Lienden several times in the media, supports the case of lawyer Plasman. If expensive civil proceedings follow after the criminal case, Van ‘t Hek wants to raise money with a benefit performance if necessary.
Unexplained
Van Lienden called the deal in June itself at Buitenhof “inexplicable”, but made no commitments to repay the profit. He said he wanted to use his return “for good causes”.
He has not yet responded to the latest allegations from lawyer Plasman.
