Together with comedian Youp van ‘t Hek, Plasman wants to prevent Sywert and his business partner from getting away with the millions they earned from the mouth mask deal. It will not cost the injured people any money, the lawyer emphasizes. “If necessary, Youp van ‘t Hek will organize a benefit concert.”

Van Lienden came under fire after he said at the start of the corona crisis, when there was a major shortage of personal protective equipment, that he would bring face masks to the Netherlands ‘free of charge’. This would be done through his Auxiliary Forces Alliance foundation.
However, through a company that he and his companions set up, a profit of 20 million euros was eventually made. Van Lienden ultimately kept 9 million euros from this and said earlier on the Buitenhof television program that he wanted the money to be given ‘a social destination’. He said he wanted to invest the millions and want to do something with the returns for, among other things, ‘cancer research in young people’.
KWF Kankerbestrijding responds after the broadcast by saying that they have not been approached by Van Lienden, and are not waiting for that either.
