The Ministry of Justice and Security is looking at a request for remission of corona fines. This is what the lawyer of four fined persons, who had written a letter to the minister last week.
As far as is known, it is the first time since the commotion about Minister Grapperhaus, who had not adhered to the corona rules at his wedding, that a request for remission is being investigated.
It concerns a couple from Rotterdam and the parents of the man, who ate a pastry together outside in May, such as Rijnmond reported. Two boas issued fines; it later turned out to be four hundred euros per person.
They were probably fined because there would have been a gathering in the open air, wrote lawyer Frank van Ardenne. “While these four people were eating a cake at a distance of 1.5 meters from each other and the regulations on this point were, and is, completely unclear.”
General excuse me
The lawyer argues, among other things, that the fines, also given Grapperhaus’ wedding party, “cannot be explained and cannot be justified”.
He is therefore asking for a general pardon for anyone who has been fined for allegedly violating corona rules, and for the dismissal or review of these cases.
