The lawyer of Elian Angel Valenzuelaknown as L-Ganteassured today that the young man who denounced having been threatened and deprived of his liberty by the now detained singer was actually his friend, while he narrated another version, practically the opposite, of the facts that the singer is accused of having been committed in last May in the Buenos Aires town of General Rodríguez.
This morning, in dialogue with the press, the defender Alejandro Cipolla said that L-Gante told him that he is “surprised” by the complaint made by Gastón Torres, which led to his arrest yesterdayand announced that tomorrow, after the investigation, he will request the release of the singer since there is no risk of escape or hindering the investigation.
“He tells me that it is striking that this person has denounced him, since (L-Gante) lived in his house for two years. His wife (Torres’s) participated in Elián’s latest video clip and a month ago he asked him for a million pesos to fix the car and he has been constantly asking for favors regarding political issues,” Cipolla said at the door of the Quilmes Departmental Investigation Delegation (DDI) headquarters, where the singer is staying.
Regarding his assistance, the lawyer said that “he is in good spirits”, that he found him “relatively well” and that he asked about his daughter and his family.
“We were talking about the file, he told me that he wants to testify tomorrow, so he will tell everything how it was,” he said.
Cipolla indicated that Valenzuela confessed to him that “it caught his attention” that Torres “says that he is afraid of him”, since between them “there was a friendly relationship” and even L-Gante “lived in his house before he was known”.
The lawyer maintained that the weapons seized in one of the raids on the singer’s property, in the Banco Provincia private neighborhood in the town of Francisco Álvarez, “are replicas” with which his daughter plays.
In addition, he said that they have in their possession a video in which the complainant is making disturbances at the door of L-Gante’s house on the day of the event and not the other way around, as he said. Finally, the lawyer reiterated that “there were no threats” from his client.
