MEXICO CITY, January 5 (EL UNIVERSAL).- The lawyer of the four detained after the shooting at the Rojo Gómez pilgrimage in Iztacalco, César Daniel Servín, said that there are sufficient elements for the judge to allow his clients to continue their process in freedom.
Minutes before entering the oral rooms of the North Prison, the criminal lawyer indicated that it was proven that they do not belong to a criminal group, so the prosecutor’s office did not charge them with the crime of criminal association.
“It favors us in the sense that, since it was proven that they are not part of a criminal group of extortionists, and that on the contrary they are merchants, it allowed the crime of criminal association to be distorted and only the Public Ministry would make them charges for carrying, however, are crimes that do not merit informal preventive detention,” he explained.
In this sense, he said that the capital’s prosecutor’s office verified that they have a fixed address and a job, which would help the judge estimate that they will not evade justice, so as not to leave them in prison.
As for the capital police officer, José Francisco “N”, he commented that he was at the scene of the incident because his family is a merchant and he also worked in that profession.
He said that just because he is a member of the SSC does not prevent him from carrying out this activity.
