aimed at damaging her reputation, she will decide. On another occasion, I had the opportunity to follow amendments to the Law on Gambling and I personally made sure that Menda Stoyanova’s proposals have nothing to do with these changes, which have led to damage to the budget.
– GERB criticizes that the Ministry of Interior acted in the dark ages, in the situation of inevitability, as if there was a corpse in the house of the former prime minister. Is Borisov’s detention scandalous?
– It would be scandalous if it was not done by Borisov’s court lackeys, who should remember what Borisov and his protégé and right-hand man Tsvetan Tsvetanov did in early 2010. Then not at 8 pm, but at 5 am in the house of his political opponents were invaded by heavily armed commandos with automatic weapons and laser sights aimed at the bodies of children sleeping in these houses. I am not dramatizing, I am referring specifically to the Borislav Gutsanov case, which I am familiar with in detail because we won a case in Strasbourg.

Only I have 9-10 cases because of the first months of 2010 of the early GERB, when they were building their image as an anti-corruption party. Of course, the cases against their opponents crashed due to lack of evidence. The real motives came out – to discredit political opponents, to steal businesses.
It is indecent, nasty unacceptable for these people to talk about political repression and policing.
– But Tsvetanov did it, not Borisov?
– In a leader’s party, this would not have happened without Borissov’s knowledge and approval.

So there is a risk of being in Dubai or Serbia, and if there is something to hide – bundles, bullion, information on computers and phones, it could disappear.

– Because he is the leader of the largest opposition party, should he get a different attitude?
– This is a perverse thinking, imposed as a habit by the patronage of the prosecution and Borissov and all those in power over the past 30 years. Many Bulgarian politicians and prime ministers have given enough grounds to investigate and arrest, but this is not done because of prosecutorial umbrellas.
We have lived in a paradoxical world in which we have accepted that this is wrong. Nothing of the kind. It sounded a bit like a cliché what Kiril Petkov wrote, but in the rule of law no one is really above the law. And that it did not happen in Bulgaria is because of the well-known servant role of the prosecutor’s office, which always goes with the winners and puts umbrellas over the government, and defeats the opposition and business opponents.
These people obviously
feel untouchable
and that is why they overplay or at least are good actors, such as Toma Bikov and Prof. Kostadin Angelov for example.
But I wonder why everyone collectively forgot the atrocities of GERB. And more recently, the dragged, kicked young people at the protests. It is ridiculous and cynical for these people to shed crocodile tears for their leader and talk about police repression.
But arrest does not necessarily mean in the color of Tsvetanov – lying on his eyes, if possible in underwear, half-naked and in a humiliating position, there is an arrest even when a person is under control.
– How will the investigation develop, they usually start loudly and then crash.
– Although temporarily only as a hologram and silhouette there is a new player – the European Public Prosecutor’s Office. If she intervenes, depending on how decisively, we can see some change, because she has the right to even seize an investigation from the national one, if she deems that she is getting into a matter related to European funding, VAT, corruption.
