Among these he cited the protection of the fundamental rights of the people with the application of policies in accordance with the current situation in the country, preventing and reducing corruption by monitoring and supervising the actions of the public administration as established by law.

Also, educate and inform the population about their rights using information technologies, defend the environment against the threats of climate change and show due attention to public and private institutions that provide public services in a precarious way and with excessive billing. , as in telecommunications services (telephone, internet), passenger transport, electricity, access to drinking water, among others).

Henríquez De la Cruz promises to combat arbitrary arrests carried out outside the law and, in the same order, will propose the reduction and elimination of the excesses of unjustified and disproportionate pretrial detention as a measure of coercion, which, in his opinion This trial leads to overcrowding of the country’s prisons, and inhuman situations of overcrowding that violate human rights and people’s dignity in all its forms.

Finally, he assured that once he is in charge of the Ombudsman, his management will not be a “light defense”.

This Friday the interviews with the candidates to be Ombudsman that the legislators who make up the special commission that are in charge of choosing the shortlist to elect the replacement of Zoila Martínez and her deputies concluded for eight days.
