The former prosecutor of the Public Ministry (MP), Neftalí Jaén, requested yesterday that competition within the investigations for the clandestine vaccination carried out in Coco del Mar be declined, since in his opinion the Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office is not competent to carry out this legal process.

Jaén added that this could be a reason for this case to be dropped and declared void, “because the Anticorruption Prosecutor’s Office had no competence to carry out investigations for crimes against public health, fraud and illegal practice of the profession.”
The jurist added that “They show that they investigated and when, due to valid legal technicalities, the case is declared null and, as is popularly said, the case falls, then they will jump in astonishment and pissed off … but you kept silent when I warned.”
He emphasized that the Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office investigates criminal activities that threaten the public administration or injure the State’s assets, which is why it is exercising functions that do not correspond to it in the case of clandestine vaccination in Coco del Mar.
“In my particular case, the complaint that I presented is for crimes against public health and that has to be seen by the Second Subregional Metropolitan Prosecutor’s Office, these anti-corruption prosecutors are specialized and tomorrow the defense of people in this process can request that it be declared void due to lack of competence “, he expressed.
Clearly, Jaén indicated that the prosecutor Ruth Morcillo, sent by the attorney Javier Caraballo, has ended up investigating a person for fraud and illegal exercise of the profession, “that is something that did not compete with her.”
The former prosecutor reiterated that what prosecutor Morcillo had to do was whether there were issues of embezzlement or whether funds from the Panamanian State were involved. “As I am seeing that, they are not going to get me up early, they are going to wake up other people and that is why I am asking her to decline the competition of this investigation of clandestine vaccination.”‘

Sometimes the businesswoman Denisse Vega went to the Public Ministry within this process.
Jaén pointed out that under this the MP he claims to be investigating this case and they spend months on it and when they go to another hearing the case is dropped and declared void due to the aforementioned technicalities.

Criticism does not stop
The way in which the attorney general of the Nation in charge, Javier Caraballo and the prosecutor Ruth Morcillo, have been conducting this investigation in a selective or “VIP” manner, they continue to generate criticism and annoyance in some sectors of the country.
One of those who continues to express her annoyance over this issue, is the lawyer Dinoska Montalvo, who indicated that she agrees with a campaign that has been promoted on the fact that corruption is in the Anticorruption Prosecutor’s Office.
“I liked this slogan,” Corruption is in the Special Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office “, I know that there are many honest prosecutors and officials committed to the truth in the Public Ministry. Do not allow them to damage your institution”, sentenced the lawyer.
Who also gave his point of view on this issue, it was the criminal lawyer, Sidney Sittón, who pointed out that the case of clandestine vaccination is deeper than people think.

“The issue of vaccine syringes is deeper than you might imagine. If the Office of the Attorney General of the Nation had carried out an objective investigation, it would have already requested international assistance from the United States. EVERYONE knew what the business was like, its origin and the officials and individuals involved “Sittón said on his Twitter account.
Remember that the MP receives strong criticism for the way the company Denisse Vega is treated, who is defended by the former magistrate of the Supreme Court of Justice, Jerónimo Mejía.
Vega and Mejía were treated at the MP offices, in Ancón, where the former gave an interview and a statement of fact, to prevent it from being questioned by the media.
