Lawyer and former legislator Oscar Pandolfi died

The renowned lawyer and former radical leader Oscar Pandolfi died last night in Cipolletti, at the age of 85. As confirmed by his relatives, he had recently suffered from coronavirus. He overcame the disease, but would have suffered other complications later. He was Minister of Government of the province and represented lawyers in the Council of the Magistracy, first in Roca and later in Cipolletti.

Born in Córdoba in 1935, he received a law degree from the Faculty of Law and Social Sciences of the National University of Buenos Aires in May 1956, six months after graduation. He settled in the Alto Valle and developed his other vocation, politics, becoming a benchmark for the Cipoleña UCR. He was appointed Minister of Government during the term of Osvaldo Álvarez Guerrero and later joined the Legislature between 1987 and 1997.

At the end of his legislative period he turned fully to the legal profession, as a specialist in Criminal Law and Criminal Procedure and teaching. In addition, he participated in the drafting of codes of procedures and reviews of the functions of judicial bodies in both Río Negro and Neuquén.

In the private sphere, he gained notoriety as a criminal subscriber in high profile cases at the provincial level and, in recent years, he was the representative of the Bar Associations in the Council of the Magistracy, the body in charge of appointing judicial officials.
