60 percent of revenues disappeared
The agreement on gas delivery was entered into for a period of 10 years, and Gasnor was to supply both to Hurtigruten and challenge Havila Kystruten.
But now the collaboration with Hurtigruten has scored.
Hurtigruten has in fact decided to drop LNG as a fuel and instead invest in biodiesel for ships sailing along the Norwegian coast.
As a result, more than 60 per cent of Gasnor’s revenues disappeared.
And that was the beginning of the quarrel that now becomes a lawsuit.
The case is ready to be handed in court in March 2023 in the district court in Haugesund.
– We think this is a breach of contract, says CEO of Gasnor, Eilef Stange to NRK.
Ten days have been set aside for the trial.
300 million kroner
The company has now sued the company Hurtigruten Coastal AS in court with a claim of more than NOK 300 million.
In the annual report for Hurtigruten, it is stated that the requirement is 34 million Euros.
Hurtigruten writes in its annual report that they will stop rebuilding their ships for gas operation. Instead, they have chosen a solution with a battery and biodiesel
– We had a delivery contract for Hurtigruten’s ships that were to run on LNG. They have now chosen to move away from this, says Stange.
