Lena, a member of the Alcoholics Anonymous introduced to her by Rollins’ godfather, rings one night at the inspector’s door and confesses that she was raped by Gene Fierstein, a man she had an affair with. The prosecutor’s office does not charge Gene because he and Lena had exchanged text messages describing the rape scene and Lena’s response suggests she was consenting. Rollins then advises Lena not to approach Gene and warn her if he tries to contact her. When Gene is found dead at the foot of Lena’s building, the special unit wonders if she accidentally pushed her lover off the roof of her building or if it was a premeditated murder.
