After losing his job and sinking into alcohol, Craig Rasmussen cracks and shoots his stepmother, his wife, then two witnesses. He then begins a macabre expedition through New York and its surroundings, changing cars regularly and eliminating all those unfortunate enough to cross his path. The FBI calls in the special unit to arrest him, because the only person who could help find him is Jeannie, a prostitute that Craig has been seeing regularly for twenty-five years. Cynical and damaged by life, she nevertheless agrees to answer the inspectors’ questions, even to serve as bait.
