Law & Order: Law & Order: Good news for Elliot Stabler fans

Good news for fans of the “SVU” franchise. After the renewal of the series with Mariska Hargitay, “New York Judicial Police” and “New York Organized Crime” will also be entitled to an additional season.

After the May 9 renewal of the FBI franchise on CBS, showrunner Dick Wolf was pleasantly surprised to also see the entire New York Police Forensic franchise renewed by NBC according to Deadline.

The American chain had already renewed New York Special Unit for several seasons three years ago. The detective series that lost its showrunner will return for a twenty-fourth season. As for New York Police Judiciaire, it will be back for a twenty-second season and the spin-off New York Crime Organized for a third season.

With this announcement, Wolf Entertainment and Universal Television renewed six series from the showrunner for NBC: Chicago Fire, Chicago PD and Chicago Med which also received a three-year extension in 2020 as Law & Order: SVU.

President of Scripted Programming, NBCU Entertainment and Streaming, Lisa Katz explained NBC’s decision:The iconic New York City Police brand has long been synonymous with NBC and we couldn’t be more thrilled to bring these three dramas back for the 2022-23 season. It’s a testament to the brilliance of Dick Wolf’s storytelling that audiences remain captivated by these unforgettable characters week after week, year after year.

The ratings show that the entire New York Law Enforcement franchise ranked number one on Thursday nights among 18-49 year olds in the United States.

Showrunner Dick Wolf expressed his delight: “Dreams come true. The renewal of all Wednesday and Thursday evening programming is the ultimate verification of our partnership with NBC and Universal Television.

In France, New York Special Unit and New York Police Judicial are broadcast on TF1 and New York Organized Crime with Eliott Stabler (Christophe Meloni) is available on 13ème Rue and will soon be featured on the front page.

The three franchises of Dick Wolf, Chicago PD, FBI and New York Judicial Police still have a bright future ahead of them.
