Lavrov’s participation in the OSCE meeting – what effect will it have on Ukraine?

In conversation with Channel 24 The head of the Vezha Center for Public Analysis, Valery Klochok, suggested why Lavrov was going to the EU and what effect he might have on Ukraine. Anyway, the last time Lavrov visited an EU country was on a trip to Stockholm for the OSCE meeting in December 2021.

What threatens Lavrov’s visit to the EU in Ukraine

Russia is a member of the OSCE, so it is logical that it will be invited to the meeting. Ukraine has an influence on these processes, but it does not completely determine them. After all, each country influences processes in the world through instruments of power.

The day before, the self-proclaimed president of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko said that he was in contact with representatives of the West, who, according to him, are ready to “pull” in Ukraine.

I do not claim that this information was sent directly by the West. That is, there are some agreements with Lukashenko. Today we see proof of my version that Europe still leaves the possibility of communication with Russia. And it is necessary that Lavrov is invited to this meeting to maintain dialogue,
– said Shred.

According to him, communication between Europe and Lavrov shows that the version of talks between European countries and Russia on the war in Ukraine is possible. In addition, when these friends take to the public plane, they show how willing they are in Ukraine. Therefore, at this stage, our country must understand its own capabilities and adequately assess Russia.

This is a very unattractive story for us,
– noted the head of the Vezha Center for Public Analysis.

At a meeting with Lukashenko in Minsk, the Russian Foreign Minister announced commitments for the security of Russia, which the Kremlin requested back in 2021 before the start of a full-scale attack. Let’s remember that Vladimir Putin then talked about NATO borders like 1997.

“This idea of Putin has not disappeared anywhere, it is still a headache In the end, Ukraine may be asked to reach a consensus with Russia, to sign to agree and forget about NATO that Lavrov’s visit to the OSCE is directly connected to this, because the EU has an official position,” said Klochok.
