Lavrov wants to abandon the dollar in Russia in response to sanctions

In Russia want to stop using the dollar and international payment systems amid increased sanctions.

Thus, the head of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs Sergey Lavrov suggested using world currencies alternative to the dollar to strengthen self-sufficiency, says website MID.

“Therefore, we need to reduce sanctions risks by strengthening our technological independence, by switching to settlements in national currencies and in world currencies, alternative to the dollar. We need to move away from the use of Western-controlled international payment systems“, – said Lavrov.
