The Russian Foreign Ministry said that they daily discuss with the Ukrainian side the issues of “denazification”, “recognition of new geopolitical realities”, the status of the Russian language and the lifting of sanctions.
Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said that Russia and Ukraine are holding almost daily video conference talks on a draft of a possible treaty. They discuss “denazification” and “recognition of new geopolitical realities.” He said this in an interview with the Chinese Xinhua news agency, the transcript of the conversation on Saturday, April 30, was published by the press service of the Russian Foreign Ministry.
So, according to Lavrov, negotiations are underway, and daily via video link.
The agenda includes issues of “denazification”, “recognition of new geopolitical realities”, the status of the Russian language, and the lifting of sanctions.
Lavrov also expressed the Russian view on Ukraine’s security guarantees.
“As one of the possible options, it is envisaged to create an institution of guarantor states, among which, first of all, permanent members of the UN Security Council, including Russia and China,” the minister said.
According to Lavrov, the negotiations are “not easy.” The minister believes that “NATO is doing everything to prevent the completion of the “special operation” by reaching political agreements.”
He called on the US and NATO countries to “think their heads” and stop supplying weapons to Ukraine. Lavrov said that the Ukrainian people do not need Stingers and Javelins, but urgent humanitarian issues, and Russia, according to him, has been doing this since 2014.
Previously it was reported that the negotiation process between Ukraine and Russia has slowed down after information about the atrocities of the Russian military in the Kyiv region and the desire of the Kremlin to intensify hostilities in the Donbass.
Yesterday, President Volodymyr Zelensky said that risks of termination of negotiations are high.
