Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said on Tuesday, February 15, that there are chances to “work out a very good package result” in the course of negotiations with the US and NATO on security issues. He said this at a press conference following talks with Polish Foreign Minister, OSCE Chairman-in-Office Zbigniew Rau.
“We will continue our dialogue on clarifying the positions of the West regarding how negotiable NATO members are in terms of implementing this principle of indivisibility of security, and, of course, we will conduct expert consultations to agree on approaches to specific issues, whether it be intermediate and shorter-range missiles, or to reduce military risks,” Lavrov said.
He added that “thanks to the efforts in all these areas in the complex, it is possible to develop a very good package result.”
Russia will soon publish its response to the US and NATO, Lavrov said.
“As for the publication, there must now be some protocol and technical things observed. It will be published soon,” he said.
As reported, on the eve of Lavrov discussed the situation with the negotiations with the West on security with Russian President Vladimir Putin, saying that Russia cannot accept US response on security guarantees.
