Lavrov at UN, avoid pseudo-peaceful initiatives on Ukraine

(ANSA) – ROME, SEPTEMBER 27 – Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov has urged UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres to prevent the United Nations from being involved in “politicised pseudo-peaceful initiatives” on Ukraine: he made it known the Russian Foreign Ministry, as reported by Tass. In the statement, released after the meeting between Lavrov and Guterres on the sidelines of the 79th session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York, the ministry said that Lavrov “once again underlined the importance that the administration and staff of the United Nations constantly respect the principles of impartiality and equidistance, also with regard to the crimes committed by the Kiev regime”. The head of Russian diplomacy also launched “an urgent appeal to prevent UN agencies from being involved in politicized pseudo-peaceful initiatives in the context of the Ukrainian crisis”. (HANDLE).
