One of the most beautiful things that happened in the Saudi Media Forum, which was held in Riyadh last week, was inviting the guests of the forum to attend a special performance of the poetic musical play “Our Commentaries are the Extension of Glory”, which I had hoped to see. Saudi befits the new history of the homeland and is consistent with all the amazing transformations that are taking place in it.
The idea of the play is genius in itself, reflecting great skill and awareness of how to employ art, history and poetry in a sequential and harmonious context to present an integrated theatrical work that carries within its contents a national message in an innovative manner, evoking the details of the time and events that the Arabian Peninsula lived through, leading to the establishment of the first and second Saudi states, and then The establishment of the Kingdom and the unification of its parts in the third state at the hands of King Abdulaziz, may God have mercy on him, and the continuous development it witnessed, leading to the era we are living now, the era of King Salman and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, the era of clear vision and unlimited ambition.
The play is an integrated and wonderful work in all its elements, artistically, technically and directing, confirming the true value of the theater and its great importance, from which he derived his description as the father of the arts. The owner of the idea and the supervisor of the play, Prince Abdul Rahman bin Musaed, and his team, have already excelled in presenting a timely and elegant masterpiece to celebrate the founding day. The real respected theatre, not the theater that has been vulgarized by clowning, ignorance and superficiality.
