CHICAGO (AP) – Zach LaVine had 39 points and Coby White scored 23, including 21 in the second half, as the Chicago Bulls beat the Dallas Mavericks 118-108 on Sunday night.
Jalen Brunson, who started in place of the injured Luka Doncic, had 31 points for the Mavs.
Otto Poter Jr. added 15 points to the cause for the Bulls, who played without starter Lauri Markkanen and reservists Tomas Satoransky, Chandler Hutchison and Ryan Arcidiacano.
Doncic missed the duel with a blow to the left quadriceps. He was injured Friday night in the second quarter of the Mavs’ home win over the Miami Heat.
The Slovenian continued playing then and finished with 27 points and 15 rebounds, his best figures of the season. His condition will be reviewed every day, and it is unknown for now if he will play this Monday in Houston.
“We’ll see how he is tomorrow,” said Dallas coach Rick Carlisle. “We don’t think this is a long-term thing.”
