The French Blood Institution (EFS) and the Association of Voluntary Blood Donors of Laval (Mayenne) are organizing a new blood collection, Wednesday 21 September 2022, from 2.30 pm to 7.00 pm.
Collection at the Espace Mayenne
Exceptionally, it will take place in a unique location, the Espace Mayenne. In collaboration with the transport company Tul, the organizers have set themselves an ambitious goal: “to bring a majority of new donors among the 120 planned”, explains the EFS in a press release.
New donors expected
On the occasion of the Golden September, the Cassandra association will be present during this collection to raise awareness on the importance of blood donations in the fight against pediatric cancers. “Renewing the generations of donors is a priority to compensate for those who reach the age limit every year” while you answer “to the growing need for blood products”.
382 donations are needed each week in Mayenne for emergency relief, surgery, blood disease, cancer … Appointments can be made on dondesang.efs.sante.fr or on the Blood Donation app.
