The conditions and guarantees are required, the Castres Sports Nautiques finally sees its project for an aquatic complex with a diving pit succeed.
In mid-December 2021, the leaders of Castres Sports Nautique (CSN) and elected officials from the Lautrécois-Pays d’Agout community of municipalities (CCLPA) formalized the completion of the financing of the aquatic complex and sport and handicap diving pit, located on the Aquaval website. The president of the CSN Jean-Marie Celariès then announced: “The work will start at the beginning of next spring and will be stopped in the summer so as not to hinder the summer season of the aquatic site.” But spring saw nothing coming. But this Tuesday, June 14, the president of the CSN and the elected officials announce that this time “all the conditions and guarantees are validated and the construction site will start after the summer season of the outdoor pool (July-August)”.
It was a long-term job for Castres Sports Nautiques. A job that lasted more than 10 years. In its press release, the CSN indicates: “There is no doubt that the unanimous support of all the local, departmental, regional and national officials will have made it possible to validate this complex file, it is indeed the unanimity of the deputies, senators, mayors, communities of communes and other elected officials who will have allowed the advent of this project. The general interest, already understood by the population, was finally recognized by the State, the local authorities and even the public and private banks and I would like to give an special mention to our deputy Jean Terlier for his unfailing support for five years”, wishes to specify Jean-Marie Célariès.
A unique diving pit in France
Remember that this complex will include a swimming pool 25 meters long and 10 m wide with 5 swimming lanes. These will be connected (safely) to a diving pit 25 meters deep with a diameter of 8, with a mobile bottom at 6 meters. Its particularity is that it will be accessible to anyone with a disability.
