Argentina striker Lautaro Martinez highlighted the importance of the victory over Bolivia at home, breaking the knot that lasted fifteen years.
And the last victory of the Albiceleste national team against Bolivia in their field dates back to the year 2005, with the same score (2-1), for the 2006 World Cup qualifiers.
The Bolivian national team, “Hernando Siles”, is famous for its difficult conditions for opponents, as it is located in the capital, La Paz, which rises more than 3600 meters above sea level, which is a permanent obstacle for opponents players due to the lack of oxygen.
Lautaro said, in comments posted on the official account of the Argentine national team on the social networking site “Twitter”: “We have thought about what this match means to us because of history. We will not deny that it is difficult to play here, but things have changed a lot for us.”
He continued: “There was a lot of talk about it, but we focused on what we have to do, win and get the three points.”
He ended: “We knew that the match would be difficult in this way. They came first. I think our team today showed a lot of spirit and intelligence. We are very happy.”
It should be noted that Lautaro scored another goal and set up for Argentina in their 2-1 victory over Bolivia.
