Argentina conquer Colombia in continuation 2022 World Cup qualifiers. Tango team won 1-0 thanks to a single goal Lautaro Martinez.
CONMBEOL zone 2022 World Cup qualification Argentine vs Colombia. The match was held at La Bombonera Stadium, Buenos Aires, Wednesday (2/2/2022) morning WIB.
Argentina appear without reinforced captain and star player, Lionel Messi. La Pulga is absent because he has just recovered from COVID-19.
GOAL! Argentina broke the deadlock in the 29th minute. Lautaro Martinez listed his name on the scoreboard.
The Inter Milan striker found a cross from Marcos Acuna, before firing a low shot into the Colombia goal. Argentina leads 1-0.
Angel Di Maria almost gave Argentina a two-goal lead five minutes later. His free-kick ball slid into the goal, but can be pushed over by Camilo Vargas.
Colombia had a golden opportunity before halftime. Luis Diaz shoots the ball which is pushed aside by Emiliano Martinez. He tried to push the rebound again, before German Pezzella swept the ball from the Argentine goal.
The 1-0 score for Argentina lasted until the first half ended.
Argentina did not relax attacks in the second half. Marcos Acuna latched on to Di Maria’s free-kick but the ball went straight for Vargas.
Di Maria almost broke into Colombia’s goal in the 60th minute. His low shot was parried out by Vargas.

No goals were scored in the second half until the referee blew the long whistle. Game over for Argentina 1-0 victory.
This victory adds to Argentina’s points in the CONMEBOL zone standings with 35 points, while extending their unbeaten streak to 29 matches in a row. Meanwhile, Colombia is stuck in seventh place with 17 points.
