Lauryn or the art of building an entire career with a single album. The singer is about to begin a world tour celebrating the 25th anniversary of her widely acclaimed solo album, “The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill.” She will perform her entire Grammy-winning album on 17 dates in the United States and Canada as well as Australia and New Zealand. She will also be joined by the other two members of the Fugees for her dates in the Americas. US dates include the United Center in Chicago, the Barclays Center in Brooklyn and the Kia Forum in Los Angeles. The first date will be September 8 in Minneapolis.

“‘The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill’ is and was an album of love for my parents, my family, my people, my musical and cultural ancestors, my teachers, my romantic relationships, my Creator,” Hill said in a statement to subject of his solo album. I wrote love songs and protest songs (which are also love songs) about the topics and interests that inspired and moved me. I was convinced that what inspired me would resonate with an audience that had been led to believe that songs like this could only live in the past. »

Highly anticipated concerts

This tour is highly anticipated, especially because the Fugees were forced to cancel their reunion tour because of the Covid. Initially announced in 2021 to celebrate the anniversary of the album “The Score”, also awarded a Grammy, it was canceled in 2022. In September 2021, the trio had exceptionally reunited on stage in New York for his first concert in 15 years. Lauryn Hill has already made several appearances this year to begin celebrating her album’s anniversary, including at the 50th Anniversary of Hip Hop ceremony in New York alongside Nas, as well as headlining the Roots Picnic festival alongside fellow Fugees. ‘The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill’, with hits such as ‘Doo Wop (That Thing)’, ‘Ex-Factor’ and ‘Everything Is Everything’, had exploded the charts in the US in 1998, selling 422,000 copies in the first week, a record for a female solo artist.
