There is a corona outbreak in the cardiology nursing ward of the Laurentius hospital in Roermond. Four patients and three employees have tested positive for Covid-19. On Tuesday and Wednesday, more tests were conducted among employees and patients. Patients who have been on the ward for the past ten days also undergo a corona test. Laurentius reports this.

The hospital does not know how the corona outbreak could have started. To prevent further spread, the relevant nursing ward, cardiac monitoring and the ER work according to the guidelines for a corona ward. Employees wear the necessary protective equipment. According to Laurentius, an admission stop is not necessary, because the positive tested patients can be separated well from the patients without corona. No patient should be visited this week.
