Laura Pausini he doesn’t want to hear about going back to race a San Remo. And so far nothing strange. What sound a bit strange – not very humble to say the least – are the motivations behind a peremptory “no”. As emerges from the statements collected by the Fatto Quotidiano, the singer from Romagna believes there is a “hierarchy” such that he could not participate in Sanremo.
“I respect my colleagues’ decision to go to the race, having won it and with an important career behind them. I don’t have that courage and for me the Festival isn’t like going to the Grammys, it’s something else. Colleagues who put themselves in the competition are courageous, after having built a story with an audience that has brought you forward. But I see it differently and when I talk to them I say I don’t agree because for me you have to respect what has been created together with the public, the hierarchy must be respected. But that’s my point of view.” this is what he stated.
Yet speaking of her career, speaking at the same conference, Pausini admitted:
“For the past two years, I’ve done nothing but cry. I questioned everything (…) After the Golden Globe won in 2021 with ‘I do (Seen)’ I thought it was all over”.
About Sanremo, it should be remembered that in recent years it has attracted many famous singers (clearly less than Pausini), enticed by an increasingly unique showcase and grappling with a music market dominated by streams in which the old pop struggles to impose. The same last single by Pausini, Box, over a year after its release, it barely scores 6.6 million streams on Spotify. To give a Sanremo yardstickyoung Ollytwenty-fourth, is already at 6.7 million streams, The Country Cousinswho are certainly not the most popular musicians on the market, are at over 4.2 million while Cenere di Lazza, the most listened to song, is at 31.5 million.
Laura Pausini also excludes an involvement in the singing festival in other guises, not purely as a singer:
“Everyone would expect from me that one day take the direction of the Festival or lead it. No, I don’t feel like it. I couldn’t be detached from those decisions, especially if I happen to have friends who want to go. Honestly, I don’t know how to handle it. And then with such a successful Festival, it may happen that there will be one that will do slightly less well and I’m not so sure of myself to address this hypothesis as well”.
All who?
