Laura Castro will change the insular direction of Sports for that of Tourism. It is a decision that the Island Council of Government of the Cabildo de Tenerife will ratify in its next session. Castro has the academic training that makes her ideal to take over this new responsibility. An area that, in addition, is going through a particularly difficult time after the effects of the pandemic on the sector in the Islands.
Castro will leave having resolved the issue of the lights at the Heliodoro, which are tested tonight and premiered on Sunday at the Tenerife-Mirandés.
As the president of the corporation, Pedro Martín, advanced in the SER, this was one of the priority issues regarding the maintenance of the capital’s enclosure; and it has finally come through in the last few hours.
Laura Esther Castro Hernández was born in San Cristóbal de La Laguna. She is a doctoral student in Law, Society and Tourism from the University of La Laguna, a university center where she also completed a Degree in Journalism and a Diploma in Tourism. He also has a Master’s Degree in Information Sciences from the same university and a Master’s Degree in Marketing and Digital Communication IMF from the Camilo José Cela University in Madrid.
Much of his professional career has been linked to Tourism, hence the appointment. In addition, in the next few hours there will also be the inauguration of a new professional – with a very technical profile – to fill Castro’s vacancy at the head of the Insular Directorate of Sports, which will continue to report to the counselor Concepción Rivero (Citizens).
