Laura Caron walks the runway at New York Fashion Week

Recently, Laura -Caron, a young girl from Saint-Alexandre, lived the dream of many fashion fans, that is to march at the prestigious New York Fashion Week. She was spotted on Saturday September 7 at the Hard Rock Hotel in New York, wearing a dress created by Ukrainian designer Irina Mykytjuk of Elsa Fairy Dresses. This was her first fashion show.

It was only a few days after her appearance on the catwalk that Laura Caron knew she would be one of the Esla Fairy Dresses models. “At first, we didn’t go with photographer Lynn Driver to attend the event as spectators. We then learned that Lynn had suggested to the designer that Laura take part in the show, an offer she accepted. We were surprised and very happy,” explained Tanya Boissel, the model’s mother.

New York Fashion Week was held from Friday September 6 to Wednesday September 11. The event gives designers from around the world the opportunity to present their collections twice a year.

Knowledge

The young girl has already participated in several photo sessions with Ms. Driver at the Féegraphie studio in Mont-Saint-Grégoire. Each time, she was dressed in the design of Elsa Fairy Dresses. “I got a photo shoot as a Christmas present and I really liked the dresses in the studio. Then I repeated the experience for sessions with more specific themes, including The Chronicles of Narnia and for the Children’s Wish Foundation,” she says.

The man who was starting to get comfortable as a photography model, however, had never done a fashion show before Fashion Week. “I practiced marching so much before I left that I got blisters on my feet,” says Laura Caron.

Parade

On site, everything went well, according to the teenager. “Some things put a bit of pressure on me, including the language barrier, as most people speak English. In the end, everyone was very kind and patient, which put me at ease quickly. I was also able to prepare well for the show, as I was the last model to enter the catwalk. So I was able to see other people,” says the young girl, who had her makeup and hair done by professionals. For the occasion, she wore a stunning royal blue dress.

When her time on the podium was over, Laura Caron said that she received several positive comments, which encouraged her a lot. “I didn’t know if I did it right, but I was congratulated a few times behind the scenes. It gave me pride and made me start again,” she rejoices.

Travel

This experience allowed Laura Caron and her mother to visit New York for the first time. “It was an unforgettable weekend. We stayed there for three days. We got up really early and went to bed late to take advantage of everything,” said the model. Among her favorite moments, she specifically mentions being taking pictures in Times Square as well as discovering the area of ​​Manhattan where she was able to see the amazing Statue of Liberty in the distance.

Laura Caron’s participation in New York Fashion Week was a special moment for the young girl who says she became interested in this type of event. “I enjoyed showing and I am willing to do it again when other opportunities come,” she affirms.

“I am very proud and happy for my daughter.
