Wuling Air ev Lite has been launched at the Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show or GIIAS 2023 exhibition. The vehicle, which is the cheapest Air ev variant, costs IDR 188.9 million (OTR Jakarta) after getting a 10 percent VAT discount.
Now, with a low price, of course there are some technologies that are trimmed from these vehicles. Then, what the heck?
Danang Wiratmoko as Product Planning for Wuling Motors Indonesia explained, Wuling Air ev Lite received a number of adjustments compared to other variants. First, he said, the color is only single-tone. In fact, in other versions, the color is dual-tone.
“In this variant, there are several features that are adjusted. For example, the number of airbags. For Lite, there is one for the driver, while there are two other variants,” Danang said at the product launch at ICE BSD, South Tangerang, Monday (14/8).

Apart from the color and number of airbags, the manufacturer also removes other supporting features. For example, voice commands or voice commands, parking cameras, electric handbrakes, keyless systems and head unit depreciation. However, Danang emphasized that these adjustments did not reduce the performance or safety of the car.
“So basically, Wuling Air ev Lite is a standard variant that has been adjusted,” he said.
Wuling Air ev Lite does not experience adjustments in the battery and electric motor. The vehicle uses a 17.3 kwh battery that can cover a distance of 200 kilometers. Meanwhile, the electric motor is capable of producing 40 hp of power and 110 Nm of peak torque.

Meanwhile, at the same place, Dian Asmahani as Marketing Director of Wuling Motors Indonesia hopes that the presence of the Lite variant can expand the market reach of Wuling Air ev in Indonesia. Because, with a low price, this tiny car can enter the lower segment.
“It is hoped that the presence of Wuling Air ev Lite can target a wider audience. We really want to present an electric car that is accessible or more accessible to many groups, including those who live in small towns,” said Dian.
Wuling Air ev Lite actually costs IDR 206 million. However, with a 10 percent VAT discount, this tiny electric vehicle can be redeemed for IDR 188.9 million with status on the road Jakarta.
