Launching a national polio vaccination campaign next week

Hala Zayed, Minister of Health and Population, announced that more than 900,000 citizens have registered with the comprehensive health insurance system in Luxor Governorate, with a percentage of 70% of the governorate’s population, since the start of registration in the system in October 2019 until today.

This came during the Minister of Health and Population inspecting the Sheikh Moussa family medicine unit in Luxor Governorate, today, Monday, accompanied by Dr. Ahmed Al-Sobky, Assistant Minister for Supervision and Follow-up Affairs, President of the Public Health Care Authority and supervisor of the new comprehensive health insurance project, and Dr. Mustafa Ghanima, Assistant Minister for Medical Affairs Al-Therabi, Dr. Mohsen Taha, head of the curative medicine sector, Dr. Amir al-Talwani, executive director of the Public Authority for Health Care, and Engineer Akram Sami, Assistant Minister of Health for Information Technology, and Dr. Taher Ayoub, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Health in Luxor, in the framework of following up the progress of work in the comprehensive health insurance system At Luxor.

Dr. Khaled Mujahid, Assistant Minister of Health and Population for Health Information, Awareness, and Community and Population Communication, and the official spokesperson for the ministry, said that the minister reviewed family medicine files to determine the registration rates, as the total number of files registered in the unit reached 16,65 individual files, pointing out that the minister was keen To inspect the unit’s various departments, which include clinics (family medicine, mother and child health services, ophthalmology, dentistry, family planning and advice). The vaccination clinic also inspected the unit’s readiness, explaining that a national campaign for vaccination against polio will be launched during the next week. Stressing the importance of counting all children targeted by the campaign and ensuring that they have vaccinations.

Mujahid continued that the minister made sure during her tour to talk to citizens who hesitate to unite to find out how satisfied they are with the medical services provided to them with the new system.

Those who favored them, the citizens expressed their happiness in obtaining medical services within the new system for what they saw in terms of facilities and distinguished medical services of high quality, saying to the Minister: “Send our greetings and thanks to President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi for the medical services we have witnessed with comprehensive health insurance.”

It is noteworthy that the first phase of implementing the comprehensive health insurance system includes 6 governorates: (Ismailia, Luxor, South Sinai), in which the system was launched on February 16 of this year, and (Port Said), in which the system was launched in July 2019, in addition to the two governorates (Suez) And Aswan), and the system will be launched in them during the coming period.
