Suara.com – Sony Electronics officially launched a new full-frame mirrorless camera named Sony Alpha 1 (A1). The company claims this camera is a high-tech product that Sony has ever presented.
Kazuteru Makiyama as President Director of PT Sony Indonesia said that the A1 camera surpassed all existing limitations and made it a new standard in one camera.
“This camera opens a new world full of creativity, making things that were previously impossible possible,” said Makiyama in a written statement, Friday (29/1/2021).
The image sensor is made with integral memory and is paired with the BIONZ XR image processing engine which makes the camera capable of having a resolution of 50.1 megapixels. The processor is also capable of capturing continuous images of up to 30fps with a calculation of up to 120 AF / AE per second.

The A1 shooting capability is enhanced with a 9.44 million second OLED Quad-XGA electronic viewfinder with a refresh rate of up to 240fps which ensures no blackouts.
The A1 also offers 0.90x viewfinder magnification, 41-degree diagonal FOV, and 25mm-high eyefocus for corner-to-corner low-distortion viewing.
For the first time ever, the A1 enables electronic shutter flash synchronization of up to 1/200 second. The resulting photo can now come alive, even when using flash.
The sensor has a sensitivity level of ISO 100-32,000 and a dynamic video range of more than 15 stops and 15 stops for still images, making gradations smooth and natural. The new camera also displays 199MP resolution photos with Pixel Shift Multi Shooting mode and the Imaging Edge desktop app from Sony.
As for video capabilities, the A1 offers 8K 30p 10-bit 4: 2: 0 XAVC HS recording with 8.6K oversampling. The 8K footage can also be used for flexible 4K editing in post-production. The Alpha 1 also features in-camera 4K recording at 120 fps which allows recording slow-motion videos up to 5x.

A1 is equipped with a heat removal structure to maintain the image sensor and the temperature of the image processing engine. This allows users to record 8K / 30p video in succession for approximately 30 minutes.
The A1 camera has an LCD touch screen measuring 3 inches 1.44 million dots. While other features presented are two UHS-I memory card slots, UHS-II SDXC / SDHC, and CFexpress Type-A cards. There is Gigabit Ethernet, two-channel 2×2 MIMO 802.11ac WIFI, and a USB-C / port
This camera will be sold for 6,500 US dollars or Rp 91 million. Initial sales will be announced in March. Meanwhile for Indonesia, it will be announced soon.
