Launch of the Vietnam – Australia Center portal

In his speech at the event, Prof. Nguyên Xuân Thang, Director of the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics pointed out that the creation of the portal aims to materialize the joint declaration of the Prime Ministers of the two countries in September 2019.

Moreover, it represents an important culmination of the strategic partnership between the two sides in the future and contributes to the practical action towards celebrating the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries.

The launch of the portal can therefore be seen as a necessary first step for the development of the Centre, with great hope that it will contribute to improving the capacity of Vietnamese civil servants and managers and to meeting the integration and development requirements while strengthening sustainable joint cooperation.

For her part, Australian Minister Penny Wong, who is on an official visit to the country from June 26 to 28, said the portal will play an important role in enriching the knowledge of future Vietnamese officials trained at the National Academy of policy of Ho Chi Minh, as well as in promoting and strengthening ties between the peoples of the two countries.

On this occasion, Professor Nguyên Xuân Thang held a working session with the Australian Minister of Foreign Affairs, during which the two parties discussed the cooperation between the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics and Australian partners. to go forward.

The two officials agreed that the main components of the bilateral strategic partnership have been implemented effectively despite the complicated developments of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Nguyên Xuân Thang stressed the importance of cooperation schemes and projects between the two nations for the Vietnamese side, especially the project which aims to integrate human rights into the curriculum of the national education system.

He also suggested expanding cooperation in a number of potential areas, including innovation, green energy, digital transformation and response to climate change.
