launch of the national cartography update program – Journal du Gabon

It was launched this Tuesday, July 27, 2024, by the Minister of Housing Ludovic Megne Ndong.

The INC-Prog-2024 program of the national cartography institute launched in Libreville concerns the renewal of the plans of nine regions of Gabon. And responding to the missions of the national cartography institute. In particular the development of national mapping programs, especially planning tools, territorial management and urban development, supporting decision makers.

According to Minister Ludovic Megne Ndong, this program is a set of five (5) major projects that will be carried out across the country. “These include the renewal and consolidation of the geodetic network, an aerial photography initiative in the nine (9) regional headquarters; updating the plans of the nine (9) districts; creation of fifty-eight (58) administrative and tourism maps for the fifth project“, he said.

The program, which is expected to extend until the end of 2024, will start in Greater Libreville before expanding to the other municipalities, namely Akanda, Owendo and Ntoum. Remember that this program was financed to the tune of 1 billion 800 million FCFA
