AfricTivistes launches on 29 September 2022, from 11:00 to 12:30 GMT, a new information platform that will specifically address the issue of migration.
To this end, a webinar will be organized on the topic: “The migration issue: beyond sensationalism, politicization and prejudice! “.
The project Migration of dialogue de AfricTivistes aims to provide the public with a web platform to co-produce and disseminate verified, contextualized and detailed information on migration away from political divisions and sensationalism.
Once launched, the editorial team will produce reliable and balanced information on migration. The platform will also host a space for information and dialogue on migration. It will serve as a reference point for journalists and actors working on migration. It will also be a reference source for people with a legal migration project. In addition to verifying the facts, it will publish open data on the issue: existing reports and documentation.
This platform developed entirely by AfricTivistes will participate in the revision of the narrative around the issue to produce a speech that is more respectful of the rights of migrants and to encourage respect for human rights and the dignity of migrants.
In the first phase of the project Dialogue Migration, will look at the editorial staff in particular on migratory news through unpublished reports, portraits, interviews and surveys on the subject. There will also be a fact-checking section and a space for dialogue for candidates for regular or non-regular migration, young people, citizen activists, members of civil society organizations, bloggers, web activists, the media.
