On October 24 at 8 p.m., as part of the Planeta-Casa study cycle, the launch of “Filosofia da Casa” (Dantes Editora, 2024), a new book by the Italian thinker Emanuele Coccia, will take place.
The meeting, which will take place at the Casa do Povo de São Paulo (Rua Três Rios, 252 – Bom Retiro), will include a signing session and a round table on the different perspectives of “Casa” and their cultural and social importance, with Emanuele Coccia, Cristine Takuá, Júlia de Carvalho Hansen, Isael Maxakali and Rita Carelli.
“Filosofia da Casa” deploys the experience of “Metamorfoses” (Dantes Editora, 2021), this time proposing to enter the cocoons to finally re-signify them. The partnership between Emanuele and Luiz Zerbini, which began in “Metamorfoses”, continues in this Brazilian edition of “Filosofia da Casa”. The drawings of the artist Luiz Zerbini appear like pictorial notes which create a new dialogue with the text, by modulating the possibilities.
The author also collaborated with Selvagem – a cycle of life studies – on various occasions, such as discussions, round tables and study and reading materials.
Emanuele Coccia’s visit and the organization of the event are supported by the Book Office of the French Embassy in Brazil. The launch event is also supported by Institut Italia.
